Early poll results

Dear blog readers,

First of all I would like to thank you for support and numerous comments written to the previous blog update just in less than day. I am more than pleased with your reaction!

I see both given options for reloaded Dream Job story are pretty acceptable. Nevertheless, starting with Premier League relegation candidate is almost two times popular than simple start with Arsenal.
The gap is so much large that I decided to make an early stop of voting. There's no sense to wait till the end of Sunday.

The second and final poll has just been arranged for you. It contains three most weak Premier League teams according to FM media prediction:

  • Crystal Palace
  • Leicester City
  • Burnley

Can't wait to know what club will be chosen for me this time! Please vote actively because poll will be closed by midnight from Monday to Tuesday.

Waiting for a new club from you,
Vitaliy Mokosiy

FM 15 story. Instead of poll

Dear blog readers,

I am really excited by your activity and comments written to the last post! I got impression there’s one absolute leader among all three ideas of FM 2015 story. So there’s merely no sense in the poll this year. Just take look at the stats of votes given by you in the comments:

Dream job story got 16 votes. It’s about starting as unemployed manager and try to become Arsenal head coach. There was a nice addition: manage clubs of different countries, don’t stick with England.

Deportivo against Spanish grands received 4 votes as well as new AZ story.

Here are also some alternative ideas suggested by you:

  • Basque team (Athletic, Osasuna) – 2 votes
  • Start in MLS – 2
  • Middle/Lower tier Oceania/Asia club – 1
  • Dinamo Zagreb – 1
  • Swansea/Aston Villa – 1
  • Win CL with club outside England, Germany, Spain, Italy, France

Bottom line

I will start the dream job story as soon as Football Manager 2015 release happens.

I had never such kind of experience since the moment I had begun playing Football Manager (1996). It’s pleasant to realize starting unemployed would fit the name of this blog: True Football Manager.

Excited to blog for you,

Substitute goalkeepers: to use or not to use?

Hi everybody,

I have a quick question today: Do you use substitute goalkeeper?

Obviously he’s quite rarely needed, just in case of your main keeper gets injured. But if that happens and you have no backup goalie, you take much higher risk to loose a whole match. Dilemma…

I decided: let’s arrange a poll and see how many people tend to use second goalie at substitution bench. Please vote using the right side widget to share your opinion.

My thoughts

I have always been using second goalkeeper to have, well, feeling of reliability. In very rare cases that worked out and 2nd goalie was coming out from substitution bench to replaced his injured partner. Though this event has a very low likelihood.

As for red cards, goalkeepers in FM 2014 doesn’t receive them at all which is certainly unrealistic. I bet this was made consciously to escape young FM players moaning about “unfair red card that broke everything”.

Currently I suspect it’s time to change strategy. One additional place at substitution bench for a defender/midfielder/forward should enhance tactical diversity with more options for substitutes. Going to try that during upcoming matches!

Excited to blog for you,

Let’s choose some FM 2014 club for me

Dear friends,

Thank you so much for participation in the poll. Starting in non-English leagues seems to be even more great idea than I expected.  I am excited to see 912 votes given for 4 countries during the single week. It’s quite much taking into account somewhat decreased activity of FM community in one month from large FM 2014 release. So thanks again. Guys, you’re really great!

As for the poll winner … drum roll… it’s Germany! Here’s the total resulting table of votes:

Poll #1: Choose country of my future club in FM14

Dear friends,

I am still on Football Manager 2013 but I think it’s OK to start the first round of voting regarding my future team in the upcoming FM 2014. I was very inspired by your reaction on my reflections in the post. You supported the idea to manage non-English club and that’s why the poll includes Spain, Italy, France, and Germany only.

Please pay attention any comments to the post are not counted as votes. You should use poll widget to mark you choice at the top right corner.

The voting will be active for one week till 01.10.2013 0:01

Steady, ready, go!

Excited to blog for you,

My FM 2013 club is...(drum roll)...

Nottingham Forest.

Dear friends, you had been voting for Nottingham Forest so intensively that I decided to stop the poll earlier. I felt there's no competition between Forest and other clubs anymore.

Frankly speaking I am surprized because I expected to see a real battle in this poll taking 12 clubs. Suddenly Forest started leading from the very beginning...

I want to thank everyone who gave his vote for that or another team during last 3 days. Just 3 days and 1096 votes! You are fantastic!

Most likely my next post will be dedicated to future plans regarding Forest story in Football Manager 2013.

Excited to blog for you,

Poll #2: What club should I manage in FM 13?

Dear readers,

It's time to choose a club for me in FM 2013. Due to the previous poll results I will start in England. The Championship league was selected by me personally because the previous 3 stories had been started in other leagues. I liked a lot of opinions written by you in the last post's comments; many of them are well-reasoned I confess. Therefore 12 Championship clubs were taken for the final poll making club choice more sophisticated and entertaining simultaneously.

Why some clubs were not taken

Blackburn, Wolves, Bolton, Cardiff City are Championship favourites this season. Therefore I decided not to put them into the poll. I prefer start managing average or bottom club. It should be more tough challenge, and thus most likely my team will play at least 2 seasons in the Championship.

Other clubs were not included just because actually I chose the most asked ones and limited voting options to 12 variants.

Voting started!

The final FM 2013 poll is officially opened! It's available at the right sidebar and will be held on till Sunday, 13th. Pay attention that blog post comments are not counted as votes.

Please vote and decide my destiny in Football Manager 2013! I appreciate your opinion much!

Can't wait till your future decision,

What’s your opinion of Mourinho?

Dear readers, I am glad to share the results of the latest poll.

What’s your opinion of Mourinho?911 votes

Now we see what the most of Football Manager gamers think about such controversial person as Mourinho. More than 40% agree that he is just Smart manager, tactical genius. I agree as well though I don’t really like his person. And I don’t like his defensive tactical approach in decisive matches.

Poll results + new NTM’s video story episode

So the poll regard FM11 playing speed is over. I can’t comment that the results are much predictable. From the other hand, I didn’t surprised much. Interesting that 10% of voters play only 3 months in FM11 during one real life’s month. It’s slower than meУлыбка. You know I tend to play 1 season per month being as the most of Football Manager gamers do if we analyse the poll results.

New poll

New poll has already started! It’s very actual as for me because it’s about ambiguous Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho. Please vote and tell your opinion (check the right sidebar of this blog). Poll’s finish date is 12.05.2011.

NTM’s video story: Season 2, Episode 6

Another video story episode. You will know about Napoli’s progress in Series A, Napoli vs Bayern Munich match,  and harsh draw in the 1st playoffs round of the Champions League:
