New 4-2-3-1 tactics I created

Hi guys,

Here I have already started to play the 8th season in Nottingham Forest story and would like to present my new FM 2013 tactics. It’s created for replacement of counter-attacking narrow 4-1-2-1-2 which is not so usable because Forest turned into a real force which I believe doesn’t need to play defensive football with keen sudden attacking moves.

I have already started season 8 and successfully used the tactics. Therefore I can share it here now.

Season 7. Summary and questions

Hello my readers,

I’m glad you are joining me again. And here’s the final blog for season 7 where summing up some things. First and foremost, the last PL fixture’s outcome. Nottm Forest had a shadowy hope to win a title but the Red Devils must loose against Swansea for that. They give us no chance.

My guys won in the last fixture as well providing a comeback and high quantity of shots. It was the 11th win in a row!

Shadowy hope before the last fixture

Hello my dear readers,

I am about to finish the 7th season being just in one fixture till the end. Suddenly I have received a slight hope to win Premier League. However, Manchester United must loose at the Old Trafford to let that happen. Which is unlikely as you understand…

In total I have to confess things are not so bad as I was reporting in one of the previous posts. I was a bit disheartened after failure in the Champions League and another home loss to Manchester United. In fact, now it can be stated Nottingham Forest is a strong force and becomes stronger and stronger…

Forest. Already thinking about the next season

Hi guys,

Thanks for joining me again! It’s Nottingham Forest story, another update. It contains January and February matches including first real game experience for newbie Alessandro Promutico who replaced Ademilson in the squad.

Here’s the latest result list which can be understood in two ways. On the one hand, there were lots of flamboyant wins with many scored goals. On the other hand, the great run of 8 wins in a row was cut by unexpected home loss to Olympique Marseille and devastating defeat by PL leaders Man Utd

All of a sudden, Ademilson went to Anji!

Hi all,

Short post today which is dedicated to unexpected news from Nottingham Forest story! I decided to sell Ademilson during the last week of winter transfer window. Why did it happen, you can ask. There are several reasons actually:

  • Ademilson didn’t become a goal scoring machine and irreplaceable Forest forward.
  • I found a player of nearly the same level but younger one.
  • The newbie was wanted very much by Manchester City and I had an opportunity to hinder strengthening them. So they remained with 30+ years old Dzeko and Aguero in front.
  • I earned $25M selling Ademilson and buying new forward.

Quite reasonable decision, do you agree?

Season 7. Little braking at the start

Hi everybody,

So it’s a new season, new hopes. This time I have a serious restriction because it’s expected Nottm Forest finally should win Premier League according to the story targets claimed in October, 2012. Following the starting matches I see it will be a dramatic season. Almost all Premier League clubs including my Nottm Forest began to loose points from the very start…

Though today I’d like to report about my first experience with England above all. It was quite interesting.

Master-class of trainings in FM 2013

Trainings in FM 2013

The posts with youngsters promoted to the first team before season 6 and season 7 caused lots of questions about training process set up by me in Nottm Forest. That’s how idea of today’s post actually sprung up.

Frankly speaking I don’t really feel myself a king of trainings who can give you lots of knowledge. It’s just because I didn’t experiment much with them trying many completely different cases. However, I have a success story that surely can give some helpful information for you dear blog readers.

Forest transfers and preparations before season 7

So it’s time for transfers! I wasn’t expecting to buy many new players. There was some kind of accurate strategy to strengthen only those position that need to be strengthened. On the other hand, I expected to sell the worst players of the last season and free up some wage budget fulfilling club balance.
I can say now transfer goals in both directions were accomplished. In particular, I am happy with players’ sales earning $96M per campaign.

  • last year’s best Championship goal scorer John McLeish
  • promising ring and central back Stepen Kavanagh
  • young French goalie Kevin Prevost

Nottingham Forest players after season 6

Hello my dear readers,

Today’s blog post is long because it’s about players. Here I’m trying to compare and analyse all of them. Squad building it the most important thing in Football Manager. That’s why one should pay much of attention to it.

Despite dramatic defeats in the three finals, season 6 is considered by fans and board as successful. In particular, they impressed by performance in the Champions League. Tomas Necid and Steven Caulker were singled out among the best signings.

Three finals

Dear readers,

Season 6 is over and I am ready to tell you how many trophies Nottingham Forest won. I won’t uncover right now, please read the post gradually. It describes each of three finals which my club participated in:

  • FA Cup
  • Premier League (yes, PL final because title contenders met in the last fixture)
  • Champions League

So much pressure awaited my inexperienced players…

How many trophies will Forest win in season 6?

This is the question. It can be the most successful season in the history of Nottingham Forest. We won League Cup this year and have real chances to win everything, even Champions League.

So what’s your opinion about that I wonder?

Jamaal Lascelles in FM 2013

Dear readers,

Today’s post is clearly dedicated to one of my favourite players in Football Manager 2013. He is definitely one of the wonderkids. Forest academy graduate Jamaal Lascelles has been Nottingham Forest captain since the second season (which was my PL debut).

Just think about that: he got a captain armlet being only 19 years old.

I do hope to retain Jamaal Lascelles in Nottm Forest till the end of the story. He will become a single original Forest player who is absolutely dedicated to his club like great Ryan Giggs.
