It's time for True Football Manager story! Today I'm ready to share, first and foremost, my summer transfers, renewed squad pages and first season results including our debut in Europa League. Hope you'll enjoy it!
I decided not to change Crystal Palace squad much this time. The modest transfer campaign was caused by my wish to avoid many squad blending problems while having tighter schedule due to Europa League matches. Therefore I just bought a couple of players and brought several names from U21 team to the first squad.
It's a pleasure to state I managed to finish the 3rd season yesterday. It was really heroic finish I should confess. The point is in that I had several key players injured during last 8 Premier League fixtures.
Despite that, my team was in totally great morale and made a wonderful unbeaten run in the end. The Eagles were definitely on a roll creating some very surprising results!
I am still in the very beginning of season 3 and played 5 official matches only. Anyway I have something to tell you regarding tactics since I rejected to use asymmetric tactical approach and decided to reconstruct good old Supersonic one. Can anybody of you recall how I had been using Supersonic tactics for Leeds in FM 2012? I am. I do remember its very well and deem my defensively unstable Palace needs something like that.
I am writing this blog post being ill and having quite high temperature so I won't be too verbose this time. I should have posted this update tomorrow following Sunday schedule but I won't be able to do that. There is it.
Season 2 totals
Of course it's nice to see my team in Overachievers and Signing of the Season categories.
Eleven - that's the position number where my Crystal Palace have finished the second season. It's better than the 13th place last year, however, I am slightly disappointed with the ending interval when we should really fight for becoming the 9th.
I am eager for sharing the latest news from Crystal Palace story. Unluckily, this Sunday is not that optimistic as previous one when I was thinking of chance to get into Top-8 in the end. OK, I will not be beating around the bushes, let's explain you everything with the following screen shot.
Today you will learn about two new tactics created by me for Crystal Palace and of course read about the latest results in Premier League and national cups. Renewed squad, new tactical schemes - that's what makes my FM gaming experience exciting!
Ball possession with 4-4-1-1
My new 4-4-1-1 tactic does resemble Braganca tactics which was successfully used in low-league matches. Its main ideas here:
High ball possession
Accurate passing and slow smart attacks
Well covered flanks against opposition
The tactic is pretty versatile and can be used against teams of any calibre.
It's another Sunday, time to share news about my story. Finally, all summer transfers are done and the second season is started. I managed to play many friendlies, 3 opening Premier League fixtures and 1st League Cup match. After I feel it's going to be much more exciting season than the first one. But let me tell you everything in order.
Somehow I overcame all troubles with match animation alarmed in the last blog update. I lost one good evening for playing Football Manager because of that weird glitch. This is why I am still in active process of making transfers. It's July, 7 of 2015 and as you understand there will be squad changes onwards. However, quite many transfers have already been made till this moment. And sure I have to tell you how the last 4 Premier League fixtures were played and what position Crystal Palace finished at.
Season 1 completion
Four last matches were unexpectedly disappointing for Crystal Palace. But luckily all our competitors failed as well and we remained at the 13th position after all.
Today's blog update does contain much information about Crystal Palace matches. I had quite much time for playing FM 2015 last week and I am in 4 fixture till the season end so far. That is why I decided I am ready to perform squad analysis and prepare myself to summer transfer window. Thusly, your help and advices are more than welcomed.
You know I normally update this blog two times per week. But actually I'm very overloaded with my current job and isn't able to do high-quality blog updates so frequently. Merely I didn't manage to play FM 2015 enough and have nothing to report about at the moment.
Therefore it would be better for everybody if I officially switch to another schedule:
1 time per week, every Sunday
I expect Sunday blog updates will appear in a super-stable order without any omissions.
Hope on your understanding and support. See you on Sunday here reading the latest Dream Job story news.
Another Dream Job story update today. I am pleased with the latest Crystal Palace matches even despite League Cup failure. In short, it seems squad blending had quite much progress during this period. Currently I feel my Palace is stronger than other PL relegation zone level clubs.
It's great to come back to my native country after quite intensive US trip. During the trip I did manage to play couple of matches and today's blog update is fully dedicated to my initial match experience with Crystal Palace. Hope you'll enjoy it!
Welcome back to True Football Manager blog - a right place where you can always find a fresh FM story.
I have already played two first official matches with Crystal Palace but I am going to play 2-3 fixtures more and then come here with a report. At this point I'd like to share information about made summer transfers. There were no any revolutional squad changes. Moreover, I decided to focus on signing talented youngsters to bring them to the first squad onwards. This is a part of philosophy agreed with Crystal Palace board.
First things first I was more than pleased with you reaction at my detailed Crystal Palace squad review. Just want to thank all of you once again here. You helped me to decide regarding Palace tactical style for the first season:
4 defenders in line
It was much advised by you and I agree there's no time sense to arrange experiments today.
That's all about tactics for now because signing new club staff was actually my first task in Palace.
