Braganca in Promotion Stage

Blog post 876

Hello dear readers,

Last weekend I had pretty much time to play Football Manager 2015. Additionally, I decided to watch matches in Extended mode instead Comprehensive one what speeded up my story. So story updates from me should cover more fixtures than usual due to increased gaming velocity. At least the story is called 'Dream Job' meaning I want to become a new Arsenal manager some day... :)

Two new tactics unveiled

Blog post 875

Hi guys,

Thanks for reading my Dream Job story. By the way, you can comment what story sides should be more/less lightened. It would be awesome to hear your opinion.

Today's update about Braganca contains the tactical info and latest results. The 2nd season is being played with already successful 4-4-1-1 tactic and two new tactical schemes presented below.

3-5-1-1 with Standard Mentality

It is oriented to a total ball control in the centre of midfield. 5-in-line midfielders + AMC provide a ball possession level I need.  The tactics works really great against 4-5-1 formation which is quite popular in Portuguese National Championship.

Key team instructions unique among all three tactics I use:
  • Much Lower Tempo
  • Stick To Positions

Season 2. Revolutionazing

Blog post 873

Hi guys,

Here I have a huge portion of fresh Braganca news. Dream Job story continues, and today I am ready to report about three things all together:
  1. Revolutional squad changes during summer transfer window.
  2. Claimed season expectations.
  3. First results in season 2 with the new squad.

Squad revolution in the lower Portuguese League is a totally normal thing. It happens with many PNC clubs because of semi-professional club status and one-year player contracts. So there should not be any surprise for you in how Braganca was refreshed by me.

Core tactics for Braganca in FM 2015

Dear readers,

The first season managing Braganca became a successful one. I managed to get into promotion playoff has having quite weak squad and 5000 bet coefficient of title win. In fact Braganca was the 4th team of 80 in Portuguese National Championship. That was a merit of used tactical approach, and I am ready to share it with you just right now.

Total impression

At first I had some experiments with asymmetric tactical approach trying to play without central midfielders at all. But then it became clear for me it couldn't work because many PNC teams use 4-5-1 formation overloading midfield. So after all I stopped on two tactics and played almost the whole season using them:

  • 4-4-1-1 Control - main one
  • 4-1-2-2-1 - backup one

The latter is actually modified version of my AZ tactics used in FM 2014. I can say it didn't work well against other PNC teams, so 4-4-1-1 Control was used in most cases. The following stats confirms success rates for both tactics:

Season 1 is completed. Braganca got...

Blog post 869

Hello dear readers,

Are you ready for the news about the last Braganca matches in season 1?

Promotion league

Braganca lost the first match to Camacha but competing Moimenta failed in their match at the same time. So league outcome was moved to the last fixture. For some reason I didn't manage to beat Coimbroes getting just a draw. Luckily, Moimenta did not seize on my loss of points, so Braganca remained at the 2nd position after all.

It was tough and nervy experience. I was playing the last match with league table widget enabled keeping track of what's going on in parallel games.

Mid-season thoughts and preparations

Blog post 865

Hi my readers,

I was snowed under and played FM not so much time during last days. At the moment I am just coming up to the first match of Promotion stage. However, I think its time to share some thoughts about this time interval and upcoming 18 matches.

Braganca confidently won all 4 friendlies against weaker teams, that is is nice.

Unbeaten run with help of hot prospect arrival

Blog post 864

Hello dear readers,

The long post title sounds optimistic and like the one that needs explanation. Well, as you understand my Braganca got into the unbeaten run of official matches. But was it enough to promote to the next stage... that's uncovered two screens below if you can't wait ;)

There's a single loss in the list but it was friendly game.

Very tactical football in Portuguese National Championship

Blog post 863

Hi guys,

Glad to see you here reading my blog today! My first season with Braganca turned into a tough and at the same time entertaining journey. That is caused by strong AI that frequently switches tactics from one to another depending on events on the pitch. This is why my tactics shown in the previous blog post was quite easily opposed by other tactical approaches. As a result Braganca was displaced by competitors from the promotion zone.

Even so, you see my team is in 2 points from the 2nd line. So it's OK, moreover, 8 fixtures are ahead.

Today I am sharing information about my first match experience in Dream Job story. In short, Braganca start in Portuguese National Championship was pretty fine and makes me thinking in optimistic way regarding selected tactical approach. Here is my set of results:

3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in total.

Braganca squad

Dear blog readers,

A short story update today. Just want to share full set of Braganca players profiles:

Pay attention two centre backs Couto and Jaka were signed for free during transfer window. I didn't manage to perform any other transfers just because of inability to sell a couple of existing players or even release them using mutual contract termination.

Board doesn't expect too much from me as you can see from the picture below. But I have ambitions and want to do my best creating working tactics that can bring us to domination in the low level league. Portuguese National Championship should become an interesting and exciting race for promotion!

That's all for now. Stay tuned. Next time I will be ready to tell about my first matches of Dream Job story.

Excited to blog for you,
Vitaliy Mokosiy

About lowest Portuguese league rules

Blog post 859

Hello dear readers,

Today I would like to describe what awaits me as Braganca manager in the first season in Portugal. The third level league is called Portuguese National Championship (PNC). I know the blog is visited by many readers from Portugal, however there are more people from other countries. And I suspect most of you don't know how much PNC is complicated and entertaining as it was with me till this weekend.

Welcome to Braganca!

Blog post 858

Hello dear blog readers,

I want to tell you my first club was found quite quickly. Those clubs that were available at the start rejected me, even Girknyk Sport from Ukrainian First League. Though I understand the league has the 62nd reputation in European rating.

All of sudden vacancy in the lowest league of Portugal was opened. I applied to Braganca and received the job promising to win promotion in the very first year. A risky step but I don't afraid challenges and this time don't afraid to be sacked. Anyway it's a bottom level and I'll be able to find another team if things go bad :)
