FM14 Custom Views: Player Search

Hello dear readers,

First of all sorry for the delay in blog updates, I travelled to home town where I had no good Internet connection.

Not long ago I published my custom squad views used in Dresden story which have already  been downloaded by more than 400 people so far. So today I would like to continue sharing customised views I created in Football Manager 2014. I’m sure some of you will be glad to see such kind of FM content. This time it’s all about Player Search screen which is certainly one of the most significant in the Game.

Player Search Views

Player search screen is used in two cases:

  • Straight player search with different filters. Frequently used by me to find transfer/loan listed or value free player.
  • View and analyse player shortlist. By the way, my current shortlist as a head coach of Dresden contains 727 footballers!

One of important traits FM 2014 demands from gamer: ability to analyse player information and build squad basing on that.

Therefore I create the special set of custom player search views.

Here I have views by roles used in my tactics:

  • TFM Goalkeepers
  • TFM Central Defenders
  • TFM Complete Wing Backs
  • TFM Central Midfielders
  • TFM Inside Forwards
  • TFM Strikers

Their idea is simple and quite obvious. A set of the most significant attributes was selected for each distinct role. It allows not to take into account less important attributes and concentrate on major ones. This is how TFM Inside Forward view looks where Pace, Acceleration, technical skills, Finishing, Off the ball, Flair are vital:

I also created this universal view for all players named TFM All. It helps to analyse players in context of 3-2-2-2-1 tactic I used based on Very Rigid philosophy, Direct passing, wide play and overloading attacks through flanks.

The last but not least, TFM Scouting view containing reports from scouts, personality, information about minimal wage expectations of player and minimal transfer value expectations of club.
