FA Cup – my unachieved target

Dear readers,

Welcome back to Nottm Forest story! It’s season 9, and I’m very close to a finish line. Community Shield and League Cup are already in my trophy room. I hoped to get FA Cup at first in the story but failed at the semi-final stage…

FA Cup failure in the semi-final

As you see my boys were unlucky. We had so many shots… Man City’s Joe Hart became the hero of the day with multiple saves and excellently done job during penalties.

Another affecting factor is sudden increase of Forest injury list. Strikers Carlos Fierro and Alessandro Promutico got injuries of different complexities, Rodrigo has just recovered from his physical problems. This is why I had to use young Jim McClair as top of Forest attacks. The Scotsman failed to score his good moments.

FA Cup remained a dream in my mind. Hopefully, the same thing won’t happen with Champions Cup.

Leaders out

The next two injuries can really hinder to win Champions Cup because I lost two team leaders. Carlos Fierro got a serious viral infection. I can only wonder what it could be because the Mexican is out for 7-8 months.

3-4 weeks of recovery for Nottm Forest captain Chris Smalling might have an influence on our failure in FA Cup. Centre back Stephen Kavanagh was not so much reliable as Chris. Though it’s good Smalling is already coming back and will be able to take part in following Champions League matches.

Champions League

In the quarter finals I got the Red Devils as opponent and thought it’s chance to consolidate in two tournaments simultaneously: Champions League and Premier League. Our confident attacking performance turned into lots of work for their keeper De Gea. It was a stylish win at the City Ground underlining my idea that Nottingham Forest can already be called the best team in the world…

Next step is to beat Milan in the semi-finals. They are really dangerous and challenging for me. Their 4:0 victory at home over Man City is without doubt impressing. Then if I defeat Milan, most likely there will be encounter with PSG, the only team my Forest wasn’t able to beat at least once taking all 5 official matches we had.

Premier League

This time I’m reporting just about 7 games. So not much changed in Premier League table standing. Manchester United shortened the gap from 5 to 3 points but I have one game in reserve. This means the second PL title is almost in my hands but I should be very careful.

Second squad didn’t manage to win against Liverpool

I can explain home defeat from Liverpool. The thing is in that Forest substitution bench players were used for that game due to the following reply match against Man United in CL. I was scared by the journey to the Old Trafford and decided to give rest to my main players. Forest backup squad had to win against Liverpool according to the stats. But lack of maturity of my youngsters played a key role…

Stoke – Nottm Forest. 10 goals

I decided to upload all 10 goals for you, dear friends. Just watch and enjoy :)

Forest players

Traditional player list contains many jaded players after 120-minute battle with Manchester City in FA Cup. Now I should work on their recovery giving some additional rest to the players of first eleven .

Mitchell Hewitt – Best. Best. Best

The caption is inspired by video joke about golden Iphone 5S :) Despite that it’s serious phrase in the current context because Mitchell Hewitt is really, really best player in the squad. Perhaps only marvellous Gylfi Sigurdsson can compete for this status with him.

Amazing match ratings in the last 5 games with huge quantities of won headers and made interceptions.

On the finish line

Looks like two matches against Milan and another fight with Man Utd of Josep Guardiola should become the decisive ones. Can’t wait to play them. That’s why I am saying you ‘bye’ for now. Stay tuned because the next post is going to be final about season 9.

Excited to blog for you,
