Leeds story continues… I passed 3 quarters of the 2nd season and can share results now.
Matches and results
Most of you, dear readers, remember excellent unbeatable run of 10 matches (1 draw and 9 wins) by my Leeds started in the previous post. Now I can say that was only beginning!
If we don’t count FA Cup matches we see Leeds is still unbeatable in the Championship: 2 draws + 7 victories. Leeds players collaborate brilliantly together, tactics works fine… Everything is great apart from difficult FA Cup matches with Birmingham. Unfortunately my guys were somewhat unlucky in the equal replay game loosing it with 1:2 score…
Nevertheless nothing could hinder us to concentrate on the league. So as a result current table standing looks as it shown below:
6 points from Newcastle at the 2nd position – this is the thing I can boast just right now :-)
And it’s, of course, logically that I was given by Manager of the Month award:
Seems like I can feel myself free regarding promotion to the Premier League. So it’s time to start thinking about the next season…
Leeds players
Players statistics
Basically I am happy with the way my players have been performing during the last months. Moreover, some Leeds players deserve the best praises:
- Dawid Janczyk (simply the best!)
- Adel Taarabt (his performance is a big surprise for me!)
- Yildiray Basturk (smart AMC)
- David Prieto (the best central defender in the team)
- Oscar Trejo (more detailed information about his performance below in this post)
Here is the list of Leeds players sorted by average rating:
Oscar Trejo is my second forward who plays in pair with Dawid Janczyk. His pitch role is Poacher. And he is more confident and dangerous striker than Jermaine Beckford in this role. You see Trejo’s statistics – the guy has already scored 20 and made 8 assists. His price grew to $4.6M after all. And do you remember his transfer price before the season? Just $800K.
Oscar Trejo is a really quick and agile striker with pretty high values of Finishing and Composure attributes. This is the reason why he continues to score quite often in his debut season.
Transfers. New signings
Perhaps the most attentive readers noticed Marco Verratti in the squad screen short above. Yes, I have just bought him! It’s a great transfer success because I failed to buy him in summer. He didn’t want to play for Leeds at that time. Club reputation grew up and he has agreed to sign a contract… Just look at attributes of this amazing FM 2010 wonderkid:
My future leading (hopefully) playmaker was bought for $2M. I think he should be the main squad player in the next season.
I have also signed young Russian talent Jano Ananidze. He was sent to the reserve squad for a while.
Additionally Mehmet Ekici was loaned to strengthen Leeds centre of midfield. And he did that!
There were also some players whom I had to say “Bye”:
Tom Cleverley and Julius Wobay appeared too be rather weak footballers for Leeds United. So I decided to earned some money on these two.
Roman Hubnik insisted on his wish to leave Leeds for bigger club. His very poor morale helped me to start selling him. In the end Zenit paid 1.5 times more money than Hubnik costed – nice piece of business.
Great results there and some wonderful buys. You should not have any problem on your promotion now.
just wondering how does every1 keep the teams morale up so high. I can only manage my starting 11 and the others who i rotate, the players in the squad as back up for injuries or cup games against weak clubs morale drops.

How do you sell players for this high numbers??
When I transfer list players there are several interested clubs, but no one is making an offer, and if I offer the players to teams, I have to do it for a really broken price.

Marco Veratti is just awesome. I had to pay 20 millions for him in my 4th season with Wolves and he's still worth that money.
Leeds simply the best im in premier league and im 1st i won Lc and im in final of FA this is leeds managed by Atlant Nila. i have stars in my team like Sandro Marquinho Jo the amazing brazilians and Hosni Abd Rabo out there with Pennant and Delph in his partnership also have Lung JR (rejected offer for 16 mil)
Verratti (rejected offer for 12 mil)and Shawcross (from Stoke for fee 5 mil)Naughton(5 mil) (Johnson 5.7 mil)
and have a lot of high prospect so my leeds premier ship will end soon then i will try to improve in defence !!

Marco Verratti is amazing. Hes a first team player in my leeds squad, in the champions league. You will love him.
Btw, look at Jojon Shelvey if you need an attacking midfiedler. Charlton are in financial crisis, so he is cheap at 1.4m, and he becomes immense. Better than Verratti.

No disrespect to you Vitality, im sure you're great at FM, but does anyone else think FM2010 is easier than previous versions? I took over at Forest in The champ. and took them straight up, top of the league with only a couple of signings. Now im in the premiership and doing ok. What do peoples think?

Oh come on, he's been doing this for years - CHEATING that is. No way he is selling players for that kind of money and also achieving promotion from Championship in his first year after promotion from League 1.
He's obviously saving games after every match, replaying lost matches, and adding different managers to different teams to sell his players. It's too obvious.
im managing Leeds too and managed to buy Veratti in my 2nd season in the championship (thanks for the recommendation). He is really excelling now in the EPL. Im in my 5th season now, Man City is winning everything and buying everybody...its ridiculous...but im having a fun time buying their unwanted players: Lucas, Michael Johnson, Kyle Walker, Joe Hart, Jo, Kalou at a fraction of the price...very addictive.

Michael you say that he sell them for more than youd expect well maybe your used yo punds because he is doin it in dollar and there is a big difference
in my leeds season i was just looking through my u18s and saw a guy called Serkan Aslan and his pace is 17 and acceleration is 17 and his age is 17 already world 3.1 m

I would say that FM10 is easy than the previous version, if you were someone that was struggling to create a tactic that worked.
That for me is the big difference, and if you understand something about football, which I don't claim, then you can work out a good tactic very quickly.
While it is intriguing how well Vitaliy is doing at selling players, given the troubles I've had, I do not believe there is any cheating. I know that most of the players I've been trying sell from my QPR squad are either old or lower league material. The problem I believe is that the wages being paid by QPR for some of these players is putting off teams that might be interested. In fact I checked recently on the players that left the club on a free and over half are still not with a new club.
Michael your probably not any good at the game, maybe you should quit now! Why bother coming on here if your just going to give your crappy opinion!!
Well done Vitaliy, when i was Leeds i went up to the prem via the play-offs in my second season, but you've excelled thanks to your amazing strikeforce, just proves if you spend your money on the right players it shows!! In the prem look out for Samir Nasri- he normally gets unhappy and transfer listed due to lack of games.
Also, since doing your original wonkerkids list are there any players that have impressed you since starting your Leeds adventure that you can recommend?

I am entitled to an opinion no matter what that opinion is.
I mean it's years since he actually had a problem with a team he is managing. Things always seem to go well for him and let's be honest, if you're actually playing the game correctly then you'll have ups and you'll have downs.
I'm not saying promoting with Leeds to the premiership in the minimum amount of time isn't possible - I'm simply questioning the fact that it always seems that what Vitaly does or wants to do, works WITHOUT ERROR.

A truly inspiring moment, a scoring record I thought would not be beaten or equalled.
But then on the 3rd February 2021
Neymar managed to score 6 goals in only 45 minutes in Leeds United 7-4 premier league home game against Manchester United.
Neymars goals
2min: (took it on the bounce and shot)
4min: (advanced on the keeper and found some space)
8min: (took the ball in to the box and found himself in some space)
24min: Neymar had only the goalie to beat.
29min: smashed in low (his 40th for the season)
40min: Neymar bore down on goal
Best individual goal scoring efforts for my Leeds Team, also never had any player scoring more than 6 goals in a premier league match

first of all I try to sell those players that are valueable in my game. If player is prospective or wanted by many clubs then price can be increased. If other clubs are not interested in your transfer listed player - try to decrease price and click on 'Offer to Clubs'

Tom Cleverly was pretty poor Leeds player. I tried him on both ML and AMR position but no success
Noticed that you are preferring Kilkenny before Howson. Howson got Leeds Blood in his veins. In my game he's played 513 games and scored 65 goals. I would definetly prefer him

I would hate playing Football Manager if I replay matches using game saves. The only way to get a real pleasure from Football Manager play normally (every experienced FM gamer knows this fact). It must be like in real football life because FM2010 is football management simulator.

there is no need to write guide. Just use tactics screen:
- Open it
- Select a player there
- In the right side of the screen you'll see selected attributes that are necessary for currently selected role
- Try to choose other role
- Selected attributes will change then

answering your question I can say Ched Evans is very good striker in the Championship. I have just finished the 2nd season... Evans scored 38 goals in 45 matches!
2 of them were conceded by Leeds goalkeeper ;)

Fm does lose its sparkle if you cheat in ANY way. The new game does seem a bit easier though especially when it comes to selling players as you can nearly always make a sale.
For anyone in the conference south, Ashley Grimes on a free from Millwall and Robert McCormick from FC Belize. 89 goals between them in first season.

Still tired of the bullshit CPU and its ability to score with almost every shot, my latest game at home to Crystal Palace

palace 5 shots 1 on target score
1-1 it happens far too often even shot players with 1 or two goals for the whole season will score 2 or more in one match against you.
Ive noticed how many times the bullshit CPU changes it's tactics and scores instantly, then you see the text "change back to their usual style of play" so they score with their unusual style of play??!!!
Vitaly, new to this blog and i've got to say im impressed by your team. I do not believe that you are cheating otherwise the game would be pointless. Im amazed that you sold kilkenny for $8.25 because he is rubbish on mine and i got $2.5 for him. It is amazing how much you get for players. If i could do that Leeds would be the richest club in the world!
