It’s time to continue my Hull story in Football Manager 2009!
Premier League
This post is called “Chasing Arsenal” because my Hull is trying to follow Arsenal and make a points distance between our teams shorter. Actually, Hull is on the 3rd position at the moment:
There are also Manchester United and Chelsea in the group of Arsenal chasers as you see.
I have played the following matches since the last post:
There were different kinds of games: successful and not. The worst of all matches is a stupid 0:1 loss to Watford. I was punished for the second squad players put to the squad. The most sad game was against Manchester City when we got 2 goals in extra time and dropped out of League Cup at quater final stage.
Those points that were lost in Premier League matches against Bolton, Aston Villa, Watford and Manchester United allowed Arsenal to get a lead. But I am sure we will compete for the title anyway!
Champions League
What I can say! Total domination of my club in the Group G. Nice to see that the second half of games was won by the second squad players!
Hull will play with Schalke in the 1st knockout round of the Champions League. Fine draw for us!
Players statistics
Here are Hull players sorted by average rating:
Darwing Suarez and Milovan Rakic were really the best during the reported period! They are the best young stars in the team. During this season Suarez has all chances to be better assister than Buonanotte! It will be uncommon for Hull :-) Moreover, he made more assists than any other Premier League player:
Special thanks to Ochoa for his vital saves in the last game against Manchester United!
nice row of matches there.... how bad r the injuries to rakic and suarez?? its january now isint it... signing anyone?

I think u should have a much better team by now honestly.. i dont think u can even think about overcome arsenal with the players u have..
i play zaragoza on my 4th season and im sure i would beat u easily =P
i sold ramires, gojko kacar, gignac and diego cause they werent good enough for my team :)

You should be ashamed! Vitaliy keeps a realistic game up for us and he makes us enjoy to read his blog. Every time when I'm reading his posts he just makes me feel good about playing this game. It makes me feel good to know that you don't kneed players like the ones you listed to have a good team.
It takes more than just names to make a great team. It takes effort, patience and most important: fun.
Vitaliy, keep up the great work. Your blog is among my favorite sites, just because I can read about someone who's just happy playing a great game!
such an imature comment from an annynomous. u say u're good with your zaragoza pal??? who know about how are u playing it, maybe u restarted the game everytime u lose or add a new manager to another club to sell their star player to your zaragoza with a small fee... that's an easy way.

lol, dont get me wrong, i like to read this blog too. i was just expressing my opinion, no harm should come from that :).
and no, i dont cheat. the only thing i do is when i want to sell a player i get the much money i can at that moment. -> i save the game then i offer the player for an amount and if that amount is paid by any club i load the saved game and offer him for a higher fee. dont think thats a big deal =P

vitaliy i need to know yo r tactics beacuse i cant seem to win many matches i am cheltenham town and in the premier league after 5 years but in my first 10 games i have only managed 3 points so i would love it if you could help me thank you and good luck for the seasons end

How come Arsenal are always so good? All their players have developed loads, and every time i play them i always lose. They are the only team I lose to! It seems like it's the same on ur game.
