Hull youngsters at the current moment
Hello, my dear readers!
Most of you know that I am on the finish of the 5th season. And some of you asked me about destiny of the youngsters that I bought for my U18 and reserve squads before the 4th and 3rd seasons. This post is going to be some kind of “youngsters report”.
Disappointments
Forward Vaclav Kadlec didn’t develop at trainings enough and moved to average Czech club - Queensland Roar
Haris Vuckic ![]()
He has been increasing his attributes through years. But this process is really slow… At least I will be able to make some money on this Slovenian striker because he had been bought for only $170K.
Warren Boateng
Irish DMC/MC who was signed for free in the same transfer window when I bought Blaise O’Brien for $200K! I’m not happy with his physical skills therefore I have never tried Boateng in the first team squad. But I’m thinking on giving a chance to him…
Souza
DMC. Signed for free.
The very same but in darker colours I can say about another central midfielder – Souza. This guy seems weaker than Boateng by attribute values.
Robbie-Lee Crawford ![]()
DL/WL/AML. Signed for free.
His skills tell enough – so no other comments from me. Must be sold.
Paul Gibbons
DC. Bought for $525K.
Mostly the same I can say about Paul Gibbons. He was poor performer at trainings.
Real prospects
Luca Santonocito ![]()
MLC. Bought for $675K.
I am not really sure about Luca. From the one hand he has pretty average skills of speed, decisions, bravery. From the other hand his ratings in the Hull reserve team are always around 7.00 and other attributes are on the pretty good level (at least for stable reserve player).
Eugene Shakhov ![]()
DMC/MC. Bought for $3.5M.
Shakhov has the best Premier League rating among all Hull players now! He displaced Plessis from DMC position almost completely! Just look at the next screen:
Jack Phillips
AMRC. Bought for $2.4M.
Stable AMRC of English national U21 team and Hull reserve squad. He is good worker during training and has certainly fine prospects in future.
Terry Saunders ![]()
FC. Bought for $600K.
Quick English forward with good Technics. I have some hopes of him regardless his poor mental skills and passing…
Nick Curtis ![]()
Right defender. Bought for $170K.
Fine young man who will pretend on the substitution bench place in future.
Grant Lovell
DC. Bought for $150K.
Stable Irish defender who has rating of 7.25 this season. He will be useful for the main squad I think. But Grant needs to increase his Tackling value – that’s for sure.
Emmanuel Mohammed ![]()
DMC. Bought for $110K
He didn’t became midfielder I had expected. But some hopes of him are still present because his successive matches for the reserve squad and quite decent training efforts.
Darryl George
AML. Bought for $1.3M.
I will give him some time. Because it’s like an advance to consider him a real prospective player at the moment.
Craig Scott ![]()
DMC/MC. Bought for $210K.
He has already became leading defensive central midfielder of both Hull reserve squad and Scottish U21 national team. I’m sure we will see him in the main squad of Hull! And his age is only 18 now – pay attention!
Ion Valencia
MC. Bought for $450K.
He is in the main squad but as the reserve player now. Age of Valencia promise his skills to grow enough for the first squad. Now he is quite important part of Hull reserves.
Timothy Lawrence ![]()
MC. Bought for $200K.
Talent from Barnsley – this how I call this guy. Lawrence is already substitution player for such stars as Ramirez, O’Brien and Barazite!
Eduardo Garcia Alvarez ![]()
FC. Signed for free.
The same can be said about this Spanish striker. He is on the substitution bench after Rakic and Zeefuik.
Juan Manuel Bengoetxea ![]()
MC. Signed for free!
Another talented Spanish youngster in Hull! He is also among those substitution players of the first squad.
Conclusions
Transfer policy of buying very young players is successive, I think.
85-90% of abovementioned players has much higher place than at the moment when they appear in Hull.
70% of players have developed their attributes at quite high level.
20-25% of youngsters are already in the main squad or pretending on some positions in it.

Hull
i am surprised Vaclav Kadlec did not work out for you as he is a star for me also i know you did nt sign him but how is manuel brand
hi, just wanted to mention that queensland roar is an Australian side not a czech as u mentioned...love ur blog and good luck with hull
haris vuckic didn't work with me too bad signing
Vitaliy, can you mention some good coaches who can develop young players into real stars in a post pls.
do you have a low physical training program or somthing cus i dont think there was a player there with a natural fitnesss over 15 which is quite bad especially if you expect them to be playing full games.
btw, ive noticed that if i play a young plyer more often he will develop better for example i needed a RB bad in my first season so i bought davide santon who was 17 but now 5 seasons later he is the best RB in the world and he has played in at least 30 per season.
hiya, jst wonderin if you wud evr think bout uploadin ur save gam so we cud ply it to???????
you seem to buy a lot of young players, but how do you find these players and why do you choose these ones?
also are they all real of are they regen?
cheers(H)
As a portuguese It sticks on my mind that you call Ramires Ramirez. He´s not mexican ;)
Anyway absolutely love the website.
Maybe you've mentioned it in a previous post, but I'd like to ask you about the home-grown players situation in Hull, because you have a lot of foreign players. It seems to me that you'll have some trouble if you manage to qualify for Europian competition. Anyway, great blog and best of luck

Most of the players in this post are english or atleast briish so I'm sure he'll be fine
You have good youngsters. It is good that you are developing the young players well.
Good Luck with Hull and I look foward to reading the blog in the future.
any good jobs available at the moment?
Can I ask how you train your youngsters? By that I mean do you leave them in the reserve team? I am managing Barcelona and if I send the player to the B-team it's a totally separate team and I can't set their training schedule. Do you just leave them in the U19 squad? Thanks.
i started with sheffield utd .... i signed some great players such as
spelling may not be correct
christianval
santon
ebanks-blake
mc indoe
lewis (from preston)
a centre mid/dc from bristol city
I currently finnished my 10th season with Napoli (patch 9.1.0 i think) and Kadlec developed vey nice but he's still s reserve to a 30-years-old Aguero as I'm playing with only one striker but he is scoring very important goals. I also signed Santon at the start but he was a flop for me maybe cuz I didn't give him a chance. At the start I played Maggio who was superior than I bought Daniel Schwaab (bor 1988) and my first starter is a nice italian regen. You may want to check out Gonzalo Barreto (born 1992 in Uruguay) who is very similar to Kadlec in my team. He isn't a regen.
Anonymous,
yes, I don't know why but I feel always a need to call Ramires as Ramirez :)))
Strange :)
Anonymous,
I find young players usign:
- my scouts
- manual search
- search through U21 and U19 national teams
Anonymous,
the situation with Hull's home-grown players is very poor. I don't have any good young home-grown. Academy of Hull don't want to produce good players for my U18 team.
Good thing is that I don't have problems with English home-growns in my club.
John,
I don't look at it. Winning all cups and leagues with Hull is my main dream now!
