“Second start” in Premier League
Hello, my dear readers! Today I’m sharing information about the second attempt of Hull in Premier League. The 3rd season has started!
Matches and league table
Here goes.
The strongest league in the world has started to resist my season expectations of mid-table position. We had 12 matches: 4 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses. I would prefer more victories, of course
. But Hull board is already pleased by 12th position in the table. So I incline to be pleased by my team’s start as well.
By the way, Media Prediction for Hull in this season is 17th position (which is not good for me certainly).
The following matches were played by Hull:
Here I can single out very confident 3:0 victory against Stoke (our former competitor for the first place in the Championship) and cool game with Blackburn that is considered more strong team by squad.
The most negative match is the one at home against Middlesbrough (0:2 loss). Their players are not, surely, better than Blackburn players in my game. And I expected to win this match. But somehow my guys gave away advantage of ball control during almost all the time of the match.
Players
Lets review how my players performed during the first Premier League and League Cup matches:
The best two are Olexander Chyzhov (DC) and Fransisco Ochoa (GK). The goalkeeper whom I bought during transfer window is absolutely fantastic!!! He makes brilliant saves very often. And he has already managed to get 4 Man of Match awards in 14 matches!!!
Moreover, I decided to build team over his personality setting him as captain!
Olexander Chyzhov (age 24) has becoming better and better footballer since the moment I bought him in the first season. Confident determined central defender with high Pace and Acceleration attributes of 15 points both!
The start of the season was darkened by injuries of the first squad players (you can see this fact in the screen shot by the amount of matches played by each of them): Abdou Rasack Traore, Jonathan Spector, Andriy Rusol and our new leading forward Falcao.
Falcao had actually played 9 games and scored 4 goals. My first impressions of his performance are fine. I think he is worth of $26.5M paid for him. But unfortunately Falcao has torn a calf muscle in the match with Everton and will be away of football for 4-5 months
.
This injury strikes effectiveness of Hull in goal situations much. Substitution forwards David Clarkson and Ian Hume are pretty weak and spoil one-on-one moments very often.

Nice blog you got going here, just started reading it after gettign FM2009.
You're doing pretty well with Hull I see, keep it up. :)
I have a few questions, maybe you have experienced some of these things too. I've just started as Man City, and I've started using your tactics, very good if I may say, they were similar to mine, but I never seemed to get the same performance from the team lol I only brought a few new players, Nigel De jong for the DMC role and Kierrison, problem is some players are struggling to settle in the area/team, esp Robinho, Kierrison and a few others, I would have thought having 4 Brazillians in the team would make them feel a little more settled, but no Robinho is always poor morrale even after scoring hat trick in 5-0 win away at stutgart in Euro Cup, do you think this is something that will settle down over the season or will they get even more unsettled as we go on.
8th in League W4 D6 L2
good going there !
got a media tipped relegation team to a standard premier league team.
good look in the future
oh and could you post a screen shot of the wolves squad, im currently them and would like to see their squad etc cheers
Hey!
Vitaliy, can you make a post about other teams.
For example:Does Chelsea still has Scolari as coach? If they bought a world famous player, or did they sold their player for a lot of money? In which place were last season?
Post some Info about other teams that we (who read your blog "every" day) would now how they are doing?
p.s. I just "love" reading your blog it's great.
Best luck with Hull.
dunny,
I will make screen shot of wolves in the next post
Anonymous,
ok, there is some information in today's post about tactics of all Premier League clubs. You should see that Chelsea is still with Scolari. Abramovich is more wise in Football Manager 2009 :)
But anyway I will add more interesting news about other teams in the next post.
Keith Leighton,
yes, I agree. Robinho has problem of settling down. I had the same with Diego Buonanotte during his first season. His morale was alwasy Ok or Poor, nevertheless Hull was on the top and Diego performed really good making assists often.
Yeah Buonanotte makes a lot of assists
