Hull. 3rd season expectations and transfers

It will be the second attempt of Hull in the Premier league. This time I cannot fail expectations. If my club relegates from Premier League again I will resign and start searching for another team, I promise.

Start of season expectation, FM 2009

Though I decided to promise the board even more high targets for the upcoming season – achieving a mid-table finish. It’s quite hard but possible mission as for me.

Players out

I sold several players. Price of 3 of them is greater or equal to $2M: Michael Stewart, Dean Marney and Lomana Lua-Lua.

Stewart and Marney were unhappy with their substitution status. I was not glad to sell Dean Marney because he is good and confident player… But it’s life.

Lua-Lua didn’t impress me with his poor passing and finishing results of the previous season. Certainly, he is not of Premier League level.

Players out Hull in 3rd season

Players in

I didn’t want to buy a lot of players. But transfer money of $59M from board  changed my intentions completely! Winking

22 players were welcomed to Hull! Happy Don’t get scared of this amount because half of these newcomers was signed for Reserve and U18 teams. Prospective youngsters of 19 year old and younger age. I have drawn red rectangles on the screen shot below they include only those who don’t belong to this group of youngsters.

Players in Hull, FM 2009

Top buying here is Falcao from River.

Falcao

Falcao - from River to Hul

He is whom I wanted in the previous post of my Hull story saying about weak points. Quick, determined, pretty young leader of Colombia National team attack. Quite high Finishing, Composure, Concentration, Balance, Off the Ball, Flair attributes promise much. We will see how much this guy will score in the upcoming season. I hope to receive some kind of wonderful South American liaison between him and Diego Buonanotte. Cool

By the way, Marquinhos has also agreed to go for Hull but it was even more expensive transfer around $30M. Therefore I chose Falcao.

Francisco Guillermo Ochoa

Francisco Guillermo Ochoa

Few of you, my dear readers, advised me this brilliant Mexican goalkeeper. Well, I bought Ochoa thinking of the highest hopes about his personality. Happy

25 years old, one of the most prospective goalies in the world, high values of all important GK attributes – he makes me think that he has no shortcomings! He is my second best signing during this transfer window.

Andriy Rusol

Andriy Rusol in FM 2009

The best central defender of Ukraine. I think him to use together with Chyzhov, instead of Gardner who has agreed to sign new contract in the backup player status. Following values of attributes of Rusol one can see that he can be useful for any club (even for grand-clubs).

Eugene Shakhov

Eugene Shakhov - prominenent hope of The Tigers

Last but not least important buying – another Ukrainian player. Seems like I have started creation of Ukrainian colony in Hull Big Grin. Lets count: Rusol, Chyzhov, Pashaev and Shakhov. Four! Big Hug

This one is of very young age – 19 years old. Shakhov is already talented Ukrainian boy who can develop in a real star! He plays in the following positions: DMC, MC, AMC.

Have some fun!

And in the end there is some kind of funny screen shot for you:

Barcelona and Hull linked in FM 2009

Hull became farm-club of Barcelona Rolling on the floor. What I can say – hope to meet them in the Champions League during the next season Big Grin.

congrats on getting barca as your parent club

  2. Daniel Bernardino Says:

Lol. A transfer budget of $59M?

  3. Johnny Says:

    Why didn't you sign Lewandowski???
    And Marquinhos???

A new team in the premiership, you need to spend all your money on your first team, then when your happy with how your team is performing then you look at youth development.

If you ever need a player i think you should ask your readers to advise a player as they may be a good few seasons ahead and could recommend a Potential superstar that you could get cheap

  4. Žygimantas Says:

You did a mistake not to buy Marquinhos :( He is excelent player who can play striker as good as ataking midlefielder. But i hope that Falcao will be good too. I wish you will have a great season with Hull :D

You got a huge transfer budget, considering you are Hull and you just got promotion from championship.

I think you have a good chance to aim for an euro spot this season!

thank u for taking my advice of buying ochoa i'm sure he won't let u down at least with this team u can finish in the top half

  12. Azazel Says:

    Hey Victor

You got some pretty nice signings.Plus, I belive that really soon Buonanotte will start showing all of his potential.
I'm managing FC Porto (season 2014/2015) and Buonanotte has been hired for Chelsea for at least 3 or 4 seasons and he's one of the best players in game.
As for Ochoa,in my save he got the world footballer of the year award in 2014, and he's playing for Sampdoria.
And if you ever really need a outsanding striker I once again advise to keep an eye on Laurito. He's one of the stars of my team finishing every season with more than 40 goals (he's making the 4th season now for the club and it's best so far).
And do keep digging for youngsters,my team is mainly made of really young stars which my scouts recommended and I can tell you, that some are already amoungst the best world players, such as my 22 year old right winger which is already as good as Messi and shows more potential and my left back, which at age of 20 is in my opinion already the best left back in game. If you own a good scout team you'll soon start to get the benefits from it!
Good luck with Hull, hope to see it soon fighting for the championship

you really know how to get great transfers you team should be graet in 3rd season

  17. Anonymous Says:

Try Freddy Adu. I've buyed him in every game I have started. He shoudn't be very expensive, he's young, he plays MC, AMC/L/R and striker, his attributes rise quickly, and most importantly, he gives a solid performance in every match (in 3 different savegames!!!!!) he was foreign player of the year for 3 straight years in Serie A in my Juve game

  21. Southampton man Says:

Just a quick question (if you can answer this ur amazing)

managing Man City 2009/2010 season robinho has 2 years left on his contract and i tried to offer him a new one, he want £160,000 and i can only offer him £140,000 so then he comes crying back saying that taking a "PAY CUT" is not what he wants (wow £20,000 thats a lot when ur "EARNING" £160,000 a week)

    ANY SOLUTIONS ???????????

  22. George Wood Says:

yeh i do switch transfer budget to wage budget and offer if you have allready done this offload a few players to ease budget

p.s pls comment on my blog it is new and i would appreciate a comment or 2

howd u manage to get $59m.. lol

  24. Martijn Says:

    @Southampton Man
George is right. Your loanbudget decides the amount of money to spend on key players. Just tweak a bit with your budgets and it will be fine.

    @Anonymous
The Premier League is one of the most lucrative competitions in the world. TV money and sponsors alone will get your team a huge amount of money. Then - depending on your team goal - your transferbudget will rise.

    @George
Quit spamming your blog. You just started a blog, which is very nice. Try to get some content on your blog first and maybe some interesting developements with West Brom. After that, if it's interesting people will show op. That's the whole reason I come here. Vitaly really shows me to have fun in the game and what teams like Southampton and Hull can reach with just 'managing'.

  25. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

    Southampton man,
try to suggest Robinho more signup money. Following my experience such action helps sometimes!

  26. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

I was given of 59M because of these reasons:
    - Hull became Championship champion in the 2nd season
    - I set pretty high season expectations.

  27. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

    George Wood,
it seems like "Post comment" link of your blog is not working now. I haven't been able to add a comment therefore.

And I advise you to change blog's theme. At least change your font - because it's very hard to read what you write

  28. George Wood Says:

ok thanks for your comment's and reviews and sorry for spamming i am young and very excitable i guess (:

  29. PaX Says:

Well I guess you'll do well this season with signings like Falcao & Rusol.
All the best for the season.

  30. Anonymous Says:

Hey mate, I'm reading your blog from Australia and its fantastic. I went Hull too and I've just started season 3 like you. I ain't been relegated (i narrowly avoided it with a last day 4-2 win over Liverpool) but my squad ain't as good as yours. Unfortunately its hard to attract good players and my youngsters i brought in have flopped a bit. All the best :D

  31. Southampton man Says:

Cheers 4 the suggestions George wood, Martijn and Vitaliy. Tried 2 give him a bigger sign up fee(the biggest infact did not work still says not in his best interest 2 take a "wage cut") And theres nothing wrong with the wage budget i got a good control over it(£650k under budget) and robinho is still cryin that he wants 160k and i can now give him 145k

    any more suggestions ???

  32. Anonymous Says:

whay didnt you bought oscar cardozo from benfica he is 25 not very young but he is class?? Or miguel veloso

  33. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

Cardozo and Veloso are already bought by other clubs

  34. john Says:

oscar from sao paulo is one of the best buys in the game.
