Ivory Coast – national team of my dream!

In the early spring of the 2nd season I applied for vacancy of Ivory Coast national team manager. And they accepted me because I had enough reputation for such level of team.

I’m very happy about that because I consider Ivory Coast having the best squad on African continent Thumbs-up. The other reason is that I was amazed by their quick, technical football at Wolrd Cup 2006 in the real life! I like also their guys: brothers Toure, Keita, Salomon Kalou, Baky Kone, Emannuel Eboue, Didier Drogba and many others. It’s possible to solve any task and win any tournament (even World Cup) with this squad. Actually, my main goal is getting World Cup of 2014! Unfortunately Ivory Coast misses 2010 in my game – otherwise they would search for a new manager Wink.

For reaching the goal of 2014 I decided to create completely new tactics that will be based on attacking mentality and quick direct style of passing. It was called 4-3-2-1 TFM Xmas:

Brand new Football Manager 2009 tactics for Ivory Coast

The first test of this FM09 tactics was pretty successful.  I had only 1 match in the first half of 2010 year – with Austria.  Austria was beaten in very hard way by my guys.

I hope to have more friendly games in further for testing and tuning these tactics. And when I consider the tactics becomes winning, I will lay out it on my blog for you, dear readers!

how much stoppage time was there

  2. Octa Says:

Can you put the individual tactics for position please, this tactic could fit my Arsenal game where I have Adebayor as the only striker.

  3. Yulami Says:

Octa i think Vitaliy already posted his tactics to public in christmas :)

Congratulations! Ivory coast has such good players!

the tactic won't work with teams with a solid defense and quick attack (england, italy, spain, argentina). their squads r way superior to the ivory coast anyway. the lone striker doesn't work very well against strong teams in fm2009.

do u quit managing hull !!!!!

  6. Mike Says:

Played the best games with Ivory Coast! Beat Senegal 7-4 in a Semi Final Match!! (Was losing 4-2 half time :P)
    Good Luck!!

Hi,its me Daniel,im watching your blog for a long time, maybe you remember me...if I could help you,you should choose different centre-back,in place of Demel, just because i dont believe in him =) maybe modibo diakite from Lazio(very young lad) could be a better option ;) or Abdoulaye meite from Bolton...but its your choice,im just giving you a advise of more experienced man :P

I don't know if it is of my FM, but I also aplied to Ivory Coast on my second year, but when I arrive I was disapointed..The team is awsome, they play very well, but in my League there were no goalkeepers from ivory coast, so I played with Marc Zoro as goalkeeper..Very bad, i can win some games, but at the world cup lost on the first round... But maybe it's from my FM save that has few leagues selected... And I recommend to everyone, Ivory Coast is a great team, and I used the same tactic as you do!

    congratulations on the blog!!!

    Did you quit as Hull?

  10. Žygimantas Says:

This tactics is great! I use this tactic with Arsenal and i have won 3 titles in a row :D But i have created this tactic since 2013 :D and at Arsenal were not many new created players

Ivory coast has showed very impressive football in world cup 2006, played offensive football that against big teams Argentine and Holland but very pity they're not qualified. I hope they can comeback next year in South Africa..
Are you find wonderkid or young talent on the team? Who is them?
    Oh how about your Hull?

  12. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

Don't worry, I'm managing Hull now. It's just parallel job in my Hull's game.

  13. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

    des,
latest news about Hull will appear on this week.

i was once managing Ivory Coast as well while managing Aston Villa, but maybe its due to me selecting small databases, i cant find any goalkeeper for my team! in the end i resign because i cant find any even through scouting, and looking for the names of IC's keeper in Google!

i just realized valente faced the same problem as i do, so i'm not the only one with this problem.

anyway, a really good blog here, dropping by from time to time to search for tips and guides!

I don't know if you're going to read this but i have trained several times Ivory Coast on fm 2008 and with the 4-2-2-2 square formation (also used in reality) i only lost a game in 3 years : final of the 2010 world cup.

The only problem was the arrows but i know you can redefine it. Perhaps using it on friendly games.

I am very interested in how you manage your pre-season (how many matches, with what teams and why). How do you set your oposition instructions settings. I have always had problems with that...can you make a post about these two topics in the future... Thanks in advance :)

  17. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

Normally, I don't pay too much attention to pre-season. I choose 5-6 games with opponents of differents levels - some stronger, some weaker.
Usually 2 last matches I play agains Reserves team and U18 team. It gives morale growth before starting opening match of season.

  18. Daniel Says:

Ive just taken over Ivory Coast on my game, and i am on a medium database with no additonal players loaded as i didnt expect to be in this position. So what would be great if you could share me your tactic , if thats possible please

  19. Anonymous Says:

ive won the 2010 world cup with just one keeper it is possible

  20. Anonymous Says:

lol yea it is possible, when i was manchester united i forgot to register a keeper for the world club cup, but i still won the final 4-2 with wayne rooney in goal!!! hahahaha

im in mi 2nd season n im nt able to manage ivory coast ani mor!!! i av med data base & eng, france & spain slected legues. i woz able 2 at da start!!!! dey didnt qualify 4 wrld cup. wud dat matr???? sum1 hlp pleaz????????? jen

  22. Anonymous Says:

I won the 2014 african cup of nations with ivory coast. However after this both of my keepers retired and i couldnt find another one in the game who was registered for the ivory coast so i was knocked out of the world cup in the group stages losing 6-3 8-2 and 4-3, not bad for having no keeper(soloman kalou didnt cut it)

  23. Anonymous Says:

i simply cant find any gk for ivory coast.so i resigned before i got thrash by others.

  24. Anonymous Says:

I have the same problem which alot of people have. I joined Ivory Coast in my 3rd season and found there were no keepers at all who are from the Ivory Coast.

  25. halitcan ünal Says:

i got a job in ivory coast national team in my second year while i was managing werder bremen as well.I got pretty sucesfull, became the 4th in world cup 2010,beating spain 1-0 in groups and england 2-1 in second round.then we had beaten turkey(im from turkey btw :) ) 2-0 in quarter finals but got beaten 2-0 by argentina in the semi's.and in the third face playoffs we got beaten by portugal (3-1 ) :( but the ivory coast federation was delighted by it. :)

  26. Anonymous Says:

Same problem as everybody else. I quit and began again as Ghana bacause couldn't find a 'keeper :(

  27. AMITAF Says:

    this is just a question?
in football manager 2009 can you control one team and one national team?

  28. Vitaliy Mokosiy Says:

    AMITAF,
yes, of course. I control Hull and Ivory Coast national team as you see

  29. Anonymous Says:

Just wonder, if u managing a nation, will that nation's players hv better impression on u? Meaning tat they will hv your name in their favourite personnel. i guess this is important when u play both club/nation and intend to sign some players from that nation. Make them unsettled n intend to move to ur club...

can someone please help me here... i was asked to manage brazil while at man utd, which i accepted however it kept coming up that brazil wanted me and i have either rejected or accepted the job.. is it the way you cannot manage a club and national side at the same time?????
