HullFootball Manager 2009 System Requirements
Miles Jacobson has informed us about system requirements to our computers for playing Football Manager 2009.
Graphic card requirements work only for 3D Match viewing option. So if you have a laptop with weak video card (like me) than you will be able to play Football Manager 09 as well but only in the old good 2D mode.
Minimum requirements (PC)
- Windows XP / Vista
- 1.4GHz processor for XP or 2.0 GHz for Vista
- 512MB RAM for XP or 1GB RAM for Vista
- Graphic Card - 128MB Nvidia FX 5900 Ultra, ATI Radeon 9800, Intel 82915G/82910GL or better.
- Intel Mac
- Mac OS 10.5.5
- 1GB RAM
- Graphic Card - Nvidia Geforce 7300 / ATI X1600 Radeon
And there are also some news about copy protection and ways of buying FM09 when it will be released. It will be possible to play the game without CD in the drive. It was the way of verification before. Since now you should go through the process of check just right after Football Manager 09 is installed. There will be 3 options to do that:
1) Through Steam
2) Activation via Internet
3) Activation via phone
Buying FM09 means that you will get 5 licences for the game. So it can be installed on 5 distinct computers.
The game will have a limit of installation or not???
You'll have the possibility to install it on 5 machines at the same time...
If you uninstall it on one PC, you'll get the install back, and can install again on a new Pc..
I'll go for 2D too!
Hi everyone! I can't play fm09 demo, I don't have only the graphic card but if you said that if i don't have the graphic card, I can still play but I can't play the game. Appears one error when I open the demo! What I have to do to play fm09 only with 2D?

I have a better flash card than required but I have windows vista with 1.83GHz processor. Is this why I cant play in 3D ?
I must say that it is very disappointing that the game is realised for mac on only Intel Based systems, for there are a huge load of people who do not use those systems as yet. This will put me out of it as well as many many other. Poor thinking SEGA poor. But hay i guess i need to buy one quickly :)
I have a SG3/VIA graphics card and I keep getting a "failed to setup graphics system" message on the demo. Shouldn't it revert to 2d and allow me to play the game? Can anyone help me?
I think you should try release of FM 2009 together with patch 9.1.0.

I'm having some problems with my FM09 i just bought. When i put the disc in nothing happens. I've tried going on my computer and have uninstalled fm08 and fm09 demo.
Any help or tips how to get it up are appreciated greatly!
Just bought FM 09. When i put the disc in. Nothing is happening and it wont read the disc. This is the 2nd copy of it as i took the 1st one back as it was doing the same.

Its my birthday so i go out and buy Football Manager as my bday pressie to myself. wish i hadnt bothered. took half hour to download steam half hour to update the game, and now 2 hours later this soft anchor bollocks has wound me up to the point that i have ruined my birthday spending 3 hours on this shit. Roll on CM09. And I hope sega realise that working with monkeys aws abad error n cut them from next ear. I am a huge fan and have every single CM and FM game but unless they changg this i wont be buying this next year.

A solution is in place and is starting to clear the problem, we are confident that the issue will be solved today. The chances of successful authentication are increasing hourly. At this point consumers still experiencing difficulties are advised to leave a 10 minute gap between authentication attempts.
SEGA apologises for the disappointment caused by the problems with activating the game and asks for Football Manager fans to remain patient.

Im an Aston Villa fan and always start out as Villa to get the feell of the players then after 2 or 3 seasons when i get the jist of the players i randomise or be lower league. My most successful teams to date have been crystal palace scunthorpe and vicenza. I got swansea to the premiership once but couldnt get them into europe. With Palace i got bored as i did the quadruple 2 yrs running vicenza was more fun. Heres another question for you. on fm08 was there any players you religiously signed. I have loaded the game to my laptop and registered to the stream part and it is now asking me for my product key which i have entered at least 20 times and it keeps saying that this is not valid.
i cant even open up the editor

Double Nightmare! Been trying to load since 1.30pm. Managed to get through activation process through sheer persistence after about 2 hours and when I got through that, I got the graphics error message coz basically the graphics card on my laptop is a bag of toss!
Now trying to install it on my desktop, and gues what - ACTIVATION PROBLEM - GGGGRRRRRRRR!
What's the betting that when I finally connect, I'll have another problem because the keycode has already been registered (on my shitty laptop)!

u don't have 2 connect i think...uninstall steam and anything football manager related. Then disconnect from the internet, and install again...should skip over the problem.

i have managed to get past the product key part with the help of the website and now i have been coonected again to my account with stream who have told me to update the game. The Screen is now saying that it will take 6 hours before i can play the game. y cant SI games use the same installation package as previous games because this is really annoying me now.

What a fat ball sack - since this is amongst probably the most popular series of games ever made, why did they not consider allowing for massive demands on their servers before creating such a pants registration method. Still, we have all bought the game and they are laughing. Will probably be having this problem again with FM10.

Have to agree with everyone else, this is an utter shambles. Even when this is fixed SI have now been severely tainted in my eyes and probably everyone elses too. I didnt pay £30 so i could sit and stare at a ridiculous activation screen for hours on end.
